Mission Statement
To help people of all ages live more successfully and healthfully by
recognizing the relationship patterns and behaviors that originate in the human family
and by knowing how to apply that knowledge in their current lives.
Bowen Family Systems Theory (BFST) is the framework for all Center programming and operations.
Bowen Theory
Bowen theory is a framework for understanding the human family -- how individuals affect the family and how the family affects individuals.
The theory consists currently of eight interlocking concepts:
Triangles
Differentiation of Self
Nuclear Family Emotional System
Family Projection Process
Multigenerational Transmission Process
Emotional Cutoff
Sibling Position
Societal Emotional Process

Coaches and consultants apply the principles of Bowen theory so that individuals, families, communities, businesses and organizations can function more effectively.
Coaching focuses on current relationship interactions as well as patterns of behavior over time. Coaching addresses how anxiety affects relationship systems, and how individuals play a part in increasing or decreasing emotional reactivity in their environment.
"I give the theory to the world."
